Curvy Rte 101 with lots of rock slides, sunken roadbed, and road narrows signs. Kent made it through another 90 miles or so today looking no worse for the wear. I enjoyed the beautiful ocean-side views all along the way. There a few places where there is surfing but mostly it is high bluffs with off-shore rocks and buffeting waves. Gorgeous but deadly. Nearly every beach has signage warning of the dangers. California is a little sign happy overall but most of these seem warranted. I am certainly content to just watch the waves without actually making contact!
Today we are at Cape Blanco. It has the oldest still-standing lighthouse. We caught the sunset behind it this evening. We will hang here a few days to check out what else is around.
