Rugged boulders underfoot, magnificent pines towering over us, and the broad blue waters of Lake Tahoe stretching out in front of us; beautiful.

Glitzy Casinos, massive mansions and clusters of vacation homes line much of the shore of Lake Tahoe.  There are shops and restaurants and beaches but my favorite sections are those that have been spared development as part of a handful of State Parks and as National Forest.
