Raton – quaint and historic– plus now as 3D theatre and simulcast metropolitan opera performances

Lots of historical buildings. Best stop, Shuler theatre and the 88 year old caretaker/past director. We got a personal tour. Beautifully restored and actively used. Fantastic story. He sent us to a wonderful little coffee shop/café and to the western wear store to see the hat cemetery. Odd but cool. Retired cowboy hats from their customers through the years. Fun to see and the proprietor was a good story teller. Yummy roast beef with green chilies sandwich at the café. Some primo home made soup too. Yeap, Raton is a good stop.
