A small town parade..in the cool rain

Little Miss of everything.  I don’t believe that I have ever before seen so many Queens and their courts on any one day.   We must be in pageant country.

The Sheriff’s canine team; five dogs, no two alike.  The most fun was the bloodhound. Dogs Comp_0246 I had a flash back to ole Roscoe and Flash but this four legged fellow was anything but lazy.  He was continuously on the hunt for some scent to follow…That made for somewhat odd behavior on a parade route.  They are just a fun dog to watch.

A Budweiser Clydesdale hitch

Eight beautiful Clydesdales Clydedales Comp_0240decked out in black leather and shining silver pulled the spit and polish red wagon on the parade route.

Butch the Dalmatian Clydedales wagon Com_0241rode proudly atop the wagon surveying all that passed before him.  We got to see the hitch as they not-so-patiently awaited the start of the parade and the horses were out for all to see in the livestock barn at the fairgrounds.

Floats representing Churches, businesses, clubs and even individual families; County-wideHigh school, Middle school and local college bands and the requisite fire trucks, police cars and ambulances all with plenty of siren sounding and horn blowing.   The only thing missing were the Shriners.
