The original furnace produced its last pig iron 1894.  This site is another great example of a reconstructed iron furnace.  Thee wooden structures are all huge beams, knotched and pegged construction.  They don’t have docents to explain it all but the signage was pretty good.  I learn a bit more each time we visit one of these places.
