I 8 runs pretty near the border for a while. There have been quite a few white and green border patrol vehicles mixed in traffic and along the sides of the road up in the hills. The California produce inspection folks were more thorough though. They actually came into the motorhome and checked out the labels of the fruit (gala apples for us) in the frig. The border police so far have just asked where we are heading and sent us on our way. We must look harmless enough.
