OK, finally out onto the lake.

We had a perfect bright sunny day. It was peaceful early so we fished a little (notice I didn’t say caught some fish) and cruised around the lower lake. There are 88 boat access only campground sites scattered around the lake, they are very well done, private and great bird watching places. We might just give it a try one day when we are ready to sleep on the ground again! We will stay away from March and April though, the Rangers claim that they have a jam-packed 6 seek Spring break here…there are many shallow coves and great places for whole flotilla to hang out and party.

The solitude was soon broken though as the high speed
cigarette boats were out jetting around by noon.  We even saw houseboats that had dual outboards and could easily outrun us from a dead start….more evidence of the
status afforded those with MORE POWER.
