The Banff Springs Fairmont was originally built by the railroad as the hotel for their wealthy European tourists/passengers. It is HUGE and very castle-like. They even had a kilted doorman. This is not the place for the rugged outdoorsman/woman. I wouldn’t mind a stay of a day or two…not this trip though.
